Pakistan Army registered their fourth national football title when they edged out Karachi Port Trust 3-0 in the third Pakistan Premier League thus becoming 52nd National Football Champion of Pakistan and earning a berth in third AFC President's Cup to be played in Lahore later this year. Pakistan Football Federation President Makhdoom Syed Faisal told APP that the decision to convert the national championship to a league structure in 2004 "was tuned to perfection when Pakistan won the gold in 10th South Asian Games last year".
