South Korean champion named assistant coach

South Korea's retired soccer hero Hong Myung-bo is the new assistant coach of the national football team. The Korea Football Association reportedly said the team's head coach Dick Advocaat requested that the KFA appoint the 36-year-old Hong to his assistant position and Hong accepted the offer. As a player, Hong Myung-bo is widely remembered as the captain of the Korean squad in 2002 when Korea advanced to the semifinals of the World Cup.
